Lyuba Yatskiv
For me, the most compelling aspect of icon art aesthetics is the dynamic plasticity of a drawing. Never can I start a work process with the complete, predefined concept. The drawing line herself hints at the development of an image, if only you can sense it, feel its vivid motion and delicate plastic nuances. Despite of this, I follow an icon painting canon, though I never know what the outcome will look like.
Was born in 1977 in Lviv, Ukraine.
In 1996 she graduated from Trush Lviv State College of Decorative and Fine Arts, Department of Textile Art. 1996 - 2002 she studied in Lviv National Academy of Arts, at the Department of Sacred Art. Since 2002 she is teaching at the Department of Sacred Art of the Lviv Academy of Arts.
Participated in numerous exhibitions in Ukraine and abroad. Her works are in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, USA.
