Pyrig. Imperishable Relics of Botanic Saints

The exhibition presents an investigation into the spiritual dimension of the botanic universe, pages from an encyclopedia of sacred sacraments of plants, a window into archaic cosmogony, which did not yet create dependence of sacred from a human… Reverse path to the state of Primeval grain, mystical course of events in the kingdom of flora.

The iconography of Lyuba Yatskiv is always deeply symbolic and sacredly balanced. Every saint’s gesture there, as well as iconographic symbol serve as a text that corresponds to the canonical understanding of the Cristian event. Deepening into what has been seen, the viewer can’t shake the feeling of the perfect symbiosis of form and content, and as a result a modern icon appears in front of us, which, apart from expressive, monumental painting, restrained color, is filled with the emotions of kindness and Grace of God.

Grouped on the paper abstract combinations as invented, barely clear image of the representations about the generation - about the ancestors. They lived long time ago. They – the far away family. We don’t remember them. We don’t know them. Because of the limited time of man and uncompromising death, or because of the irony of fate - we have lost contact with them.

Towards the Sun

She believed the artist had a prophetic mission to “wake people out of numbness” and present life as a “new creation.” Her art-making revels in the complexities of nature but points to the New Heaven and Earth to come. In prints like Rejoice & Be Glad and Mystic Dance the boundaries between the physical world and the life of the spirit dissolve, and we catch a glimpse of the Peaceable Kingdom, where children form a ring with tortoise, toad and beetle and defy gravity in a line dance reaching toward the sun.

Like Greek mythology, wherein one creature was combined a human and an animal, men and animals, women, and birds were mixed in the one whole by Lysyk as well. In that way, he tried to show the human essences, compassion, and love even in the soul of the most terrible and the most darkness creature. High complex and mental images are permeated with the aspiration to beauty, despite the understanding of the own ugliness...

Andrzej A. Widelski

Fine art was for Him a meeting with the transcendent - with God. Therefore, he painted God's messengers - Angels. In his paintings, the encounter with the Angels - both mystically colorful and marked by drama, because such is human life. Was convinced that the world of art, which is a conversation with itself, and with another person - a conversation that continues under the onslaught of nothingness and eternity - can be understood only through intuition and emotion ... Kateryna Kuziv. Holy Day

From the moment of creation of the world and division of Light from Darkness DAY is the earthly criterion of time, that limit and eventual is. However, with it exist eternity and timelessness. In the concept of the Kateryna Kuziv’s show “Holy Day,” this is HOLINESS in the form of one or few days, which in their nature are HOLIES, or that is to say OTHERS.
