GENERATION. THEORY

Grouped on the paper abstract combinations as invented, barely clear image of the representations about the generation - about the ancestors. They lived long time ago. They – the far away family. In prints like Rejoice & Be Glad and Mystic Dance the boundaries between the physical world and the life of the spirit dissolve, and we catch a glimpse of the Peaceable Kingdom, where children form a ring with tortoise, toad and beetle and defy gravity in a line dance reaching toward the sun.

Yevhen Lysyk. ΜΙΝΏΤΑΥΡΟ (within the framework of the “Grand Masters” project)

Yevhen Lysyk got inspired by the graphics and paint artworks made by Picasso, what we can notice in the mythological series of his pieces, in particular in the Minotaur themes. Like Greek mythology, wherein one creature was combined a human and an animal, men and animals, women, and birds were mixed in the one whole by Lysyk as well. High complex and mental images are permeated with the aspiration to beauty, despite the understanding of the own ugliness...

Andrzej A. Widelski

Fine art was for Him a meeting with the transcendent - with God. Therefore, he painted God's messengers - Angels. In his paintings, the encounter with the Angels - both mystically colorful and marked by drama, because such is human life.
