Every name opens for our imaginatione a new one story from our past, and every story revives comes alive in Christian images, which were reproduced by artists on the walls of the houses and churches, on the pages of manuscripts and old books, on the boards and canvas, like as on the photos. When did those pictures start to appear in the home space? It is difficult to say exactly. Because in the houses of the first Christians there were already icons that protected them from evil...

Natalka Shymin. Transformation

The three works project. The combination of the Ukrainian ornamentation and modern packing film, which often called as "bubble" or a film-antidepressant, takes inside a peculiar drama. The artworks fix... or no they are reminiscent of what is already gone... of the established and eternal world, which can easily be destroyed.

Ostap Lozynky. Disquiet. Sketches to landscape

Painting, unlike icons, which at the level of the subconscious is a certain escape from the surrounding reality, search for the absolute, if to be honest, I do quite rarely. It is for me as a means of conversation. Contemplating life, the problems of man, its interaction with the world and the neighbor, with God, provoke me a lot of questions, on which extremely difficult to find some answers is (but is it necessary?) Only when it appears a need for a deeper dialogue, the means of painting help me in this.

Olena Turyanska

People are forced to leave their homes. Different times, different nations, different people, different reasons. History repeats itself. Again, again, again.... Being a refugee is not a choice. These are the circumstances that throw you out of the familiar life cycle. Another reality is to escape and survive. The reality, where the general everyday concepts acquire a universal almost sacred meaning. The landmark in this temporary reality is an icon, a graphic symbol-message. (Olena Turyanska)

29.08.2017 - 24.09.2017

Arsen Bereza. Melancholy. Hüzün

In Turkish, there is the word "Hüzün", the meaning of which is close to the concept of all-pervading melancholy, but its meaning is something wider. It accurately characterizes the sensation that is traced in urban environments and determines the state of the soul of their inhabitants, who at the same time feel their connection with the whole city that unites them.

Vlodko Kaufman. Sorrow. Doubt. Doubtfulness

The artworks presented here are the result of a long dialogue with yourself. The dialogue with questions but without answers. Each of the works was once a text that could be read by a limited circle of people. The relief, which is unclear for us, filled with ideological content.
