Yaryna Movchan
My art surrounds me - it is my life. It's about what's around, what I encounter every day. It is a sensual immersion in figurative associations and meanings. Penetration of philosophy and faith into being, of the unconscious into the conscious of human. My art is impulses from society.
I create with egg tempera using gessoed wood and gilding. It is through experiments with the technique that I convey the essence of the piece. I like when the egg tempera is aery and multi-layered, nuanced.
Born in Lviv in 1982.
In 2003 she graduated from Trush Lviv State College of Decorative and Fine Arts, 2003-2009 she studied in Lviv National Academy of Arts. She was a non-competitive participant of the International Youth Symposium of Artistic Textiles "ArcheNitkaNovo" in 2007. Yaryna has participated in more than 50 group exhibitions and international plein airs in Ukraine and abroad.
Her works are in private collections in Ukraine, Poland, Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
