The Saint and the Day

Since the onset of the full-scale russian invasion, our country has endured significant losses. The days of war have merged into one, yet some have left a lasting memory with their particular cruelty, inhumanity, and insane number of casualties. It is these days that I recall with today's exhibition, preserving the memory of them and invoking the saints. Every day, the church commemorates the memory of the holy martyrs. Many of them have been forgotten by us; their names are not popular in Ukraine, and we do not pray to them every day, even though each of them sacrificed their lives for our faith. Each work carries two meanings: the memory of the victims of russian aggression on a specific day and a tribute to the saint honoured on this day. The central theme is the Annunciation — an incredibly joyful event embodying hope for good news.
